Terms of Service

These Terms explain the rules for using My Stash Mark, including the browser extension, website, support channels, and paid Pro features.

Last updated: May 24, 2026

These Terms are a practical launch draft and should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before publication, especially if you change pricing, licensing, refund, analytics, or data practices.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By installing, accessing, purchasing, or using My Stash Mark, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use My Stash Mark.

2. What My Stash Mark Provides

My Stash Mark is a browser extension that helps you save web articles as markdown files in a GitHub or GitLab repository that you choose. Free features may be available at no cost. Paid Pro features may include multiple repositories, custom save paths, repository labels, or other advanced organization features.

3. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

4. GitHub, GitLab, Browser Stores, and Other Third Parties

My Stash Mark depends on third-party services such as browsers, extension stores, GitHub, GitLab, payment processors, and license providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, API changes, account restrictions, data loss, pricing changes, or policy changes.

5. Content You Save

You keep responsibility for the content you save with My Stash Mark. My Stash Mark does not claim ownership of your saved articles, repository content, tags, notes, or other files. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the extension and related services as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

You agree not to use My Stash Mark to infringe copyrights, violate website terms, bypass access controls, collect unlawful material, or store content in a way that violates applicable law.

6. Access Tokens and Repository Permissions

The extension uses tokens that you provide to communicate with GitHub, GitLab, or your configured GitLab instance. You are responsible for creating, protecting, rotating, and revoking those tokens. We recommend using the least permissions needed for your intended repository workflow.

7. Pro Features, Purchases, and Licensing

Some features may require a paid Pro license. Prices, available plans, features, and promotions may change over time. A purchase gives you the license rights described at the time of purchase, subject to these Terms and any checkout terms shown by the payment processor. Voluntary donations through services such as Buy Me a Coffee do not create a Pro license unless clearly stated at checkout.

License keys are for your own use unless the purchase page says otherwise. You may not resell, publish, share, or misuse license keys. We may suspend or revoke licenses that are fraudulent, refunded, charged back, abused, or used in violation of these Terms.

8. Subscriptions, Cancellations, and Refunds

If subscription plans are offered, subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through the payment processor or account flow before renewal. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund past charges.

If a 30-day money-back guarantee is offered on the purchase page, you may request a refund within 30 days of purchase. Refunds may be processed by the payment provider and may be subject to fraud prevention, abuse prevention, tax, chargeback, and payment network rules.

9. Updates and Changes to the Product

We may update, add, remove, rename, limit, suspend, or discontinue features. We will try to avoid changes that unfairly remove paid value from active customers, but the product may need to change for security, compatibility, legal, operational, or business reasons.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

11. Intellectual Property

My Stash Mark, including its name, branding, website, extension code, designs, documentation, and related materials, is owned by its operator or licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights.

Open source components and third-party libraries are governed by their own licenses.

12. Feedback

If you send feedback, ideas, bug reports, feature requests, or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation. We appreciate feedback, but please do not send confidential information through public issue trackers.

13. Disclaimers

My Stash Mark is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every website, compatible with every browser version, or able to extract every article correctly.

We do not guarantee that GitHub, GitLab, payment processors, browser stores, or other third-party services will remain available or compatible. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your repositories and important files.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Stash Mark and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost content, business interruption, repository damage, token misuse, or third-party service failures.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to My Stash Mark will be limited to the amount you paid for My Stash Mark in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if you did not pay anything.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless My Stash Mark and its operator from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your use of My Stash Mark, your saved content, your repositories, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights or applicable law.

16. Termination

You may stop using My Stash Mark at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to paid features, license validation, support, or related services if you violate these Terms, create risk for the product or other users, misuse license keys, or if we discontinue the product.

Termination does not delete files already saved in your repositories.

17. Privacy

Your use of My Stash Mark is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of My Stash Mark after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the operator of My Stash Mark is located, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you want a specific state, venue, arbitration clause, or dispute process, have counsel add it before launch.

20. Contact
